  Parable of the new and the old   In Matthew 13:52, Jesus said,  “ Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. ”  He told five parables about heaven. The first is the parable of the treasure hidden in the field, the second is the parable of the pearl of great price, the third is the parable of the net thrown into the sea, the fourth is the parable of the good householder, and the fifth is the parable of the new and the old.   Lamp on lampstand   Mark 4:21-23  『 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hidden, which shall not be manifest; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
